Grace Alvarado — Founder, Owner, CEO

Grace Alvarado is the Founder, Owner & CEO of GRALAN Enterprises, Inc., a 100% M/WBE, HUB certified Corporation in the public and private sector. Ms. Alvarado is responsible for directing multiple million-dollar turnkey, formwork and place/finish concrete projects in the Greater Houston area. She has overseen the rapid growth of GRALAN since its founding in 2010. As CEO, Alvarado fosters a culture of growth and empowerment that encourages employees of all levels to excel in the service of meeting clients' project goals.

Growing up in Texas, Alvarado states that she was instilled from a young age with the value of a strong work ethic by a family that supported her entrepreneurial attitude and ambitions. Alvarado has carried this spirit into the very core of GRALAN's operations, which has led to substantial employment growth, financial success, and expansions to other cities such as Austin, San Antonio, the Ft. Worth/Dallas area, and Louisiana.

Under Alvarado's tenure as CEO, GRALAN earned "Spotlight" recognition for work performed at William P. Hobby Airport as part of the Southwest Airlines International Expansion Project. GRALAN's reputation of consistently meeting and exceeding project corporate commitments while making sure the client's bottom line is being met is what distinguishes them as the best in the business.

Alvarado's greatest aspiration is to pave the way for women to excel and thrive in male-dominated industries. She is mother to two intelligent, confident, and independent college-aged daughters — they are her motivation and her inspiration. Alvarado's goal is to influence entrepreneurs of all backgrounds to be fearless, self-reliant, ambitious, and empowered. Alvarado strives to lead by example as a role model for her daughters, for the female entrepreneurs for whom she has served as a mentor, and for the next generation of women in business.

A few years later, she still stands by those goals. She believes she was speaking for the many women who dared to defy the odds and launched their own construction companies. Alvarado states, "In order for women to achieve success in construction they need to be not only as knowledgeable as their male peers, but more so. I knew from the beginning that for a woman to be successful in a man's world the bar is set high — you have to be better than your competitors and then some".

As a leader she's very aware of the fact that women in non-traditional careers have to work harder than men. Standing out and being acknowledged can be a real challenge. Stepping up to that challenge fearlessly, she sets stringent standards in what is, frankly, still a man's world. She has proven herself without question. "I want to succeed, not just for myself, but for my two daughters and also for those women who would come along after me."

Alvarado is an active member of several construction trade organizations. She has served in these organizations in the capacity of chair, host, and sponsor. Her passions are traveling with her family, her faith, and her company.
